2008

Royal Academy 6/7/08

I remember drawing this, sat on a sculpture in front on the Royal Academy on a very hot day. I had my fisheye camera so I can see the photos in my head that I took that day. I also remember walking across a bridge and stopping to take photos on my other film camera, I had my Diana loaded with 120 b&w film. I can't remember the last time I drew something like this.

Studio Visit

Today I tagged along to Manchester on a double decker bus, walked to Salford, made my first and perhaps sadly last visit to ATELIER. It was grand, and I liked it.

Artist Jai Redman is currently working his way though his entire collection of work with archivist and artist Fi Kay. There is just 3 weeks until the studio closes it's shutters for the last time before property developers erase it's physical form.

As an artist I've visited my fair share of art spaces in the city and this has been one of the nicest. To think that I may have never visited at all is a sad feeling, but I did visit and I'm looking forward to the future of Redmans' plans #BurnleyIsMyBerlin

What I'm working on

I love this blurry photo but hopefully not as much as I like the work itself. I'm currently working on a set of 10 artworks for a submission. I have 6 of the 10 ready to glue with the rest mentally prepared.

I'll keep you posted and be sure to upload full images with more detail behind my thinking.

Aside from this I'm working on a few applications and off to Stockport this weekend to drop work off at this years Stockport Open Exhibition. Hopefully I won't be collecting it anytime soon....
